The present invention relates to a method of prophylaxis and treatment of SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) infections in patients, which consists in administering to a patient the drug Antiprovir which is intended for prophylaxis and treatment of coronavirus-associated COVID-19 disease. The use of a pharmaceutical composition, inter alia, Aprotex®, Gordox® and Aerus® which comprise aprotinin as the active ingredient and auxiliary substances, as a SARS-CoV-2 antiviral drug Antiprovir for prophylaxis and treatment of coronavirus-associated COVID-19 disease is proposed. The drug Antiprovir for prophylaxis and treatment of coronavirus-associated COVID-19 disease is a pharmaceutical composition comprising from 0.1 wt% to 0.2 wt% of aprotinin, optionally from 0.2 wt% to 1.0 wt% of auxiliary substances, and the remainder being water, for injections.
