摘要
The Tuned Liquid Damper (TLD) is a passive structural control method employed for controlling vibrations in civil engineering structures since the mid-1980s. The TLD system is comprised of one or multiple tank(s) containing a liquid, usually water, that are installed at the top of the structure and the turbulence inside these tanks reduces structural vibrations. This patent entails the construction of a shaking table with the TLD system to evaluate results under various induction frequencies, and the results show that the TLD system is most effective in absorbing energy and structural damping when the frequency ratio (the ratio of induced frequency to the tank's natural frequency) is near 1.
