PURPOSE: A bidirectional liquid damper and a design method thereof are provided to control the vibration generated to the bidirectional of building without the installation of two liquid type dampers.;CONSTITUTION: A bidirectional liquid damper comprises a case(12) and a liquid(14). The case has a cross section which the X-axis direction is u-shaped. The case has a cross section which the x-axis direction width is Lx. The case has a cross section which the y-axis direction is rectangular and the y-axis direction width is Ly. The liquid uses the u-shaped cross section about the vibration of the x-axis direction. The liquid damps the vibration by using the rectangular cross section about the vibration of the y-direction.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
