To provide an apparatus, a method, and especially a test machine for testing a board for performing testing, with respect to failure characteristics, a board made of corrugated material such as a corrugated cardboard.SOLUTION: A method comprises: taking a corrugated board from a corrugator or a converter; locating at least a part of the corrugated board into a testing machine; performing a non-destructive compression test on a sample region of a part of the corrugated board within the test machine and providing a value of a compression test characteristic of that region of the corrugated board. The value of the characteristic is compared against a value of a predefined acceptable compression test characteristic that design of the corrugated board should have; and determining whether the corrugated board or the sample region of the corrugated board satisfies a required compression stiffness parameter from comparison result.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
