PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system for operating a platform which allows an individual user to compete with another user in a virtual league. The platform allows individual users to maintain personal performance statistics that are collectively used to determine the predicted outcome of a user's performance in competitions within the league. The platform uses predictive results in combination with or in place of the results associated with the actual race in which the user competes in scoring the user in the league against other competitors. In addition, it describes a platform that allows individual users to maintain personal performance statistics that are collectively used to determine and update difficulty ratings for various sports courses.
