[Problem] To provide: a production method for adding a desired flavor to a shellfish without killing the shellfish and providing the same; and the shellfish. [Solution] A shellfish 1 is shipped in a state in which a granular raw material is taken in the intestinal tract. The raw material may comprise a material less likely to be digested and absorbed by the shellfish 1 or may comprise a product collected on land. The shellfish 1 can be obtained by performing: a breathing/eating inducing step S301 for leaving a caught shellfish in rearing water and inducing breathing and eating behavior; raw material-containing water generation steps S201 and 202 for producing raw material-containing water by combining a raw material with water or seawater; a raw material-containing water dropping step S303 for dropping the raw material-containing water into the rearing water after the breathing/eating inducing step S301; and a raw material eating step S305 for leaving the shellfish until the shellfish eats a predetermined amount of the raw material after the raw material-containing water dropping step S303.
