This optical buffer unit comprises: a plurality of delay line units that impart a delay to an optical signal; and a switch that receives input of an optical signal output from a delay line unit, that includes a first output for outputting the optical signal to the next delay line unit, that includes a second output for outputting the optical signal to another device, and that outputs the optical signal from either the first output or the second output.
