This program executes processing of real data on a computer. The program includes multiple program elements each of which executes prescribed information processing. Metadata, which includes items indicating attributes of the real data, is managed in a database. The assistance method involves a step in which multiple icons which correspond to the program elements are displayed on a screen, and a step in which, if a change has occurred in the content of the metadata, the display state is changed of the icons corresponding to those of the multiple program elements that are affected by the aforementioned content change.
