A path planning method is proposed for determining a flight path (FB) for an aircraft (1) in a three-dimensional space from a starting point (VP1) to a target point (VP2), in which a) a first path planning limited to a first plane or area in the three-dimensional space Space is performed in order to obtain a first path planning result with a first path profile (BP1); andb) a second path planning limited to a second plane or area (SE) different from the first plane or surface is carried out in the three-dimensional space in order to obtain a second path planning resu andc) the first path planning result and the second path planning result are combined to form an overall path planning result for the flight path (FB).
