Aircraft`s flight plan approach path updating method, involves selecting active runway and active procedure during flight, and updating route of flight plan to join approach path corresponding to active runway and active procedure

The method involves preselecting landing runways of a destination aerodrome having an approach procedure that is compatible with performances of an aircraft and a landing assistance equipment. All approach paths corresponding to runways and procedures, are determined. The active runway and the active procedure are selected during the flight. A route of the flight plan to join the approach path corresponding to the active runway and to the active procedure is updated during the flight, where the route starts from the current position of the aircraft on the route of the flight plan. An independent claim is also included for a system for updating the approach path in the flight plan of an aircraft during the approach phase to a landing runway.
