A device is proposed for simulating external climatic conditions in an interior of a vehicle based on an external environment, the vehicle having a ventilation system, the device being coupled to the ventilation system and having a simulation unit and a control unit, the simulation unit being set up to simulate the external climatic conditions based on an external environment of the vehicle, and the control unit is configured to control the ventilation system based on the simulated external climatic conditions.
