The positive electrode active material for potassium ion batteries which concerns on this embodiment contains the compound represented by Formula (1). In the formula (1), M represents at least one element selected from the group consisting of V, Fe, Co, Ni, and Mn, and x represents a number of 0 or more and 1 or less. Moreover, the positive electrode for potassium ion batteries containing the positive electrode active material for potassium ion batteries which concerns on this embodiment, or the potassium ion battery provided with the said positive electrode for potassium ion batteries is provided.
