A gateway device for remote meter reading and a method for transmitting and receiving remote meter reading data using the same are disclosed. The gateway device for remote meter reading identifies the first communication method and the second communication method of the first sub-board and the second sub-board respectively attached to the first sub-board interface and the second sub-mode interface, respectively, and then connects the first sub-board. The remote meter reading data of the first communication method received through the first communication method is converted into data of the second communication method and transmitted through the second sub-board.
