PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for a bending test of a metal pipe pole, the device and the method being capable of maintaining application of a load alone in a direction substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the metal pole extends even if the metal pipe pole is bent.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a bending test device for confirming the bending performance of a metal pipe pole 2. A wire 12 is attached to the point of action 2b of a metal pipe pole 2 with a fixed base end as the target of the bending test, a tensile force is applied to the point of action 2b through the wire 12, the bending angle θ for the point of action 2b generated by bending of the metal pipe pole 2 by the applied tensile force is measured; and the extension angle φ of the wire applying the tensile force is controlled according to the bending angle θ, and the tensile force is measured.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
