To provide a frozen shrimp food material having a size suitable for eating and a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: A frozen shrimp food material 1 includes a pair of half bodies 12A and 12B or one of them obtained by dividing raw peeled shrimp 11 into two parts at cutting planes 11a and 11a over a whole length between a back 13 and a belly 14, and each half body 12 is frozen in a state in which a cut 15 provided from the back 13 to the belly 14 over the whole length leaving a body at a part of at least the belly 14 is opened.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
