The present invention belongs to the field of animal health. The present invention also provides a means for studying pig reproduction and respiratory distress syndrome (PRRS), a viral disease of botanicals, as well as means for developing vaccines, therapeutics and diagnostics for prevention, treatment and diagnosis of PRRS.In a first consideration, the present invention relates to a novel PRRS virus variant.
