A method is provided for rewarding buckling up the seat belt in the vehicle, wherein after the method is activated, it is detected whether a seat belt belonging to a seat on which a person is located has been inserted in the associated belt buckle, and if this is not the case, at least one visual indication is output in the field of vision of the person, which is designed in such a way that it animates the person to take the seat belt and accompanies the use of the seat belt through visual reward until it is inserted into the seat belt buckle. The visual reward can also be at least one hint at the same time, e.g. if this is used as an animation or the beginning of a task. A seat belt reward system is also provided.
