This monitoring-subject monitoring system is equipped with a storage unit, an identification unit, a determination unit, and a first display control unit. The storage unit stores, in advance, imaging data obtained by capturing the sleeping state of a monitoring subject for a prescribed time interval, and measurement data obtained by measuring the amount which the sleeping subject moves concurrently with the imaging for the prescribed time interval. By using the imaging data and the measurement data, the identification unit identifies an active time period, which is a time period when the movement amount exceeds a prescribed amount, and also identifies a still time period, which is a time period when the movement amount is no greater than the prescribed amount, along the imaging data time axis. The determination unit determines the sleeping posture, which is the posture in which the monitoring subject is sleeping during the still time period. The first display control unit displays the sleeping posture determined by the determination unit on a display unit.
