A method for unlocking a dockless electric bicycle. The method comprises the steps of: performing power-on initialization on a main control board in a battery compartment body (200) of an electric bicycle (100); detecting battery packs (400) connected to interfaces in the battery compartment body (200), and reading data of several battery packs (400), wherein the data comprises group identification codes, and number information codes of the battery packs (400) in a group; determining whether the group identification codes of the various battery packs (400) are consistent, and determining whether the number information codes of the battery packs (400) in the group are consistent with the number of battery packs (400) that are currently connected to the interfaces; and if the group identification codes of the various battery packs (400) are consistent, and the number information codes of the battery packs (400) in the group are also consistent with the number of battery packs (400) that are currently connected to the interfaces, sending a first unlocking instruction, wherein the first unlocking instruction is used for an electromagnetic lock (220), which is configured with the battery compartment body (200), to execute an unlocking action. The present invention further relates to a battery compartment (310) with a lock. According to the present invention, whether a battery is compliant is realized by means of reading battery data, so as to unlock the electric bicycle (100).
