Insect Lock Composition, having:a volatile insecticide containing acetic acid and one or more short-chain alcohols selected from: 2-methyl-i-butanol, isobutanol and 2-methyl-2-propanol; andone or more volatile homo or monoterpene plant constituents, which are selected from: (E)-4,8-dimethyl-1,3,7-nonatria, (Z)-4,8-dimethyl-1,3,7-nonatria, 4,8,12-trimethyl-1,3E,7E,11-trimethyl ethers, trans-beta-octimenes, cis-beta-octimenes, or cis-a-octimene.
