To provide a technique that is able to improve color reproduction accuracy for a profile used for conversion of a coordinate value for a color space.SOLUTION: In a conversion process, following a B2A table for an output profile, an apparatus independent coordinate value at an adjustment point is converted into a second coordinate value and, following an A2B table for an output profile, this second coordinate value is converted into an adjustment target PCS value, which is the apparatus independent coordinate value. Here, a value obtained by adding a relative value of an adjustment target, using a PCS coordinate as a reference, to the adjustment target PCS value is used as a target PCS value, the second coordinate value at the adjustment point is used as an adjustment target color value, and a value that is added to the adjustment target color value is used as an adjustment color value. In an optimization process, an optimal solution for the adjustment color value is obtained by an optimization process including an element by which a provisional PCS value is brought close to the target PCS value, the provisional PCS value being obtained by converting, following the A2B table, a provisional color value resulting from addition of the adjustment color value to the adjustment target color value.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
