Provided in the present application is a method for identifying the positions of slave machines that is used in a master/slave communication system. The master/slave communication system comprises a master machine and multiple slave machines, the master machine and slave machines are all connected in parallel by means of parallel lines, and the master machine is used as a head for serial connection using serial lines; the slave machines use the serial lines to sequentially receive and process position identification information sent by the master machine, and acquire position information of said slave machines relative to the master machine; and the master machine uses the parallel lines to communicate with a slave machine at each position, and acquire the coding address of a slave machine on a corresponding position.
