The present invention provides compounds containing peptides and peptidomimetics that can be used to treat disorders associated with benign and malignant tumor cells. The invention is not limited to any particular mechanism, but the compounds of the invention appear to function at least in part by inhibiting the G2 cell cycle checkpoint. Accordingly, the compounds of the present invention may be used to inhibit only cell growth or may be used in combination with a nucleic acid damage treatment to inhibit cell growth.
