This disclosure provides vehicle exterior imaging systems. This disclosure concerns vehicle exterior imaging systems that capture views of the exterior environment and display vehicle drivers. An exemplary vehicle exterior imaging system may include a glass plate comprising a combined nator positioned between a first glass layer and a second glass layer, a first exterior vision imaging assembly configured to record images of an exterior vehicle environment, and a projector assembly, which is configured to project an output image onto the glass plate. The output image is based on the images,which are recorded by the first exterior view camera assembly. The glass panel can be either part of a windscreen or a door window and the projector assembly can be mounted either outside or inside a housing of the first exterior vision camera assembly.
