A lithium niobate having a p-type nanowire region and/or an n-type nanowire region and a preparation method therefor. The method comprises: carrying out heat treatment on a multi-domain lithium niobate crystal and then cooling, so that hydrogen ions in the multi-domain lithium niobate crystal are fixed in a domain wall region; and polarizing the heat-treated multi-domain lithium niobate crystal, and reversing the polarization direction of one or more domains of the multi-domain lithium niobate crystal by applying a voltage. The lithium niobate comprises the lithium niobate crystal and the p-type nanowire region and/or the n-type nanowire region which are arranged in the lithium niobate crystal and are close to the surface of the lithium niobate crystal. A method for converting the type of the carrier in a lithium niobate nanowire region, comprising polarizing the obtained lithium niobate again to reverse the polarization direction of the nanowire region, thereby changing the type of the carrier in the lithium niobate nanowire region.
