To easily and accurately perform an axial runout measurement and display a measurement result easily to understand, when a vertical rotary electric machine such as a water wheel generator is newly constructed, or an overhaul or the like is installed.SOLUTION: In order to measure the axial runout of a rotator 1 rotating integrally with a water wheel 2 and a rotor 3 of a water wheel generator, an axial runout measuring system 100 installs a plurality of contact-type displacement measuring apparatuses 110A-110F in the rotator 1 and connects them to a measurement device 130. The measurement device 130 simultaneously measures the displacement of all measurement points P1-P6, using, as a trigger, a detection signal of a rotation position detection unit 150. A computer 140 reads measurement data stored in the measurement device 130, determines a displacement amount of each measurement point on the basis of the read measurement data, and draws the axial runout state at each measurement point in a predetermined form on the basis of the determined displacement amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
