[Solution] This ceramic composite has, as a lamellar structure, at least two oxide phases of a Y3Al5O12 phase and an Al2O3 phase, has an average value of lamellar spacing in the Y3Al5O12 phase of 0.5-20 μm, and contains 10-500 ppm of MgO. Furthermore, the Y3Al5O12 phase is activated by Ce, and the Ce content is 0.01-5.0 mol%.
