PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a ceramic nanofiber capable of efficiently producing a ceramic nanofiber superior in strength and heat resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a ceramic nanofiber that has a BET specific surface area of 40 m/g or less and comprises 0.1 mass% or less of an organic polymer component contained in the fiber. The method comprises: a spinning step in which a raw material liquid containing ceramic nanoparticles and an organic polymer compound is spun by an electrospinning method to give fiber bodies; and a sintering step in which the fiber bodies are heated at a temperature lower than a melting point of the ceramic nanoparticles to cause the ceramic nanoparticles to agglomerate one another due to sintering. The spinning step involves the use of the raw material liquid with a ceramic proportion of 80 mass% or more and 99 mass% or less and a viscosity of 80 mPa s or more and 1500 mPa s or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
