Provided are an automatic drilling and riveting actuating mechanism and a method suitable for riveting a rocket cabin body, comprising a rivet injection module (1), a rivet inserting and pressing module (2), a drilling and countersinking module (3), a switching module (4) and a pressed ranging module (5); wherein, the pressed ranging module (5) presses the rocket cabin body, the drilling and countersinking module (3) completes drilling or countersinking on the surface of the cabin body, meanwhile, the rivet injection module (1) injects a rivet (159) into the tail end of the rivet inserting and pressing module (2), the switching module (4) realizes the position exchange of the drilling and countersinking module (3) and the rivet inserting and pressing module (2), and the rivet inserting and pressing module (2) inserts the rivet (159) into a prepared hole position and completes riveting. The pressed ranging module (5) measures the position of the cabin body, feeds back and corrects the feed amount of the hole making and countersinking, and accommodates the roundness error of the cabin body. The actuating mechanism can realize automatic rivet feeding and inserting of multiple models of rivets, and can detect each process, thereby avoiding the occurrence of no rivet and crooked rivets, and form an effective protection for the rocket cabin body.
