The invention relates to a device and to a method for extracorporeal blood treatment, in particular for hemodialysis, and to a method for the balance control of a dialysis liquid in an extracorporeal blood treatment. By means of the device and the methods, sodium balancing can be implemented with improved accuracy during the blood treatment, because distorting effects in the conductivity measurement of the used dialysis liquid can be corrected by taking into account the loading of the used dialysis liquid with urophanic substances, which loading is sensed by means of an additional measuring apparatus.
