11,187. Sage, F. G., and Holland, H. June 20. Fastenings; catches, spring; locks, key.-Relates to spring catches for the doors &c. of counter cases and the like. To the back of an entablature plate A is secured a tubular housing B, within which is a sliding bolt C held in the projected position by a spring E. The bolt is retracted by means of the pivoted lever shown, one end of which engages a recess in the bolt, and the other end serves as a handle, A knob, button, &c. may be used for withdrawing the bolt. The bolt may be locked in the projected position by means of a revolving barrel or block G, mounted in an extension B3 of the housing. The barrel is provided with a cam surface G', which is brought under the end of the bolt when it is required to lock the same. The barrel has radial slots G3 for the insertion of a key, and is provided with a stop to limit the motion. In order to fix the catch in position, a hole is made in the door of the counter case to receive the housing B, and is made so near the door face that there is an opening therein running the length of the hole. The housing is slipped into the hole, and the entablature plate is secured to the door face by screws.
