16,721. Schietkiewicz, N. Aug. 20. Foundations. - Relates to means for making foundations in watercharged sand, gravel, or the like. Liquid cement is forced through pipes a into the ground, and water is drawn through a central perforated pipe c. When the cement appears in the suction pipe, the frame and pipes are raised, and the layer of sand above is charged. The operation is continued until the surface is reached. Wood or metal plugs d are screwed or inserted in the tubes, and may be removed by the pressure of the cement, or by lifting the tubes. Clay or loam may be washed out of the earth by forcing water through the pipes a before the cement is forced in.
