Tanks.-The condition of ballast tanks on board ship is shown in a plan upon a board by means of black, white, and mixed plugs which are inserted into the numbered holes corresponding to the different tanks and are locked by a slotted sliding plate behind. The lower part of the board presents numbered spaces and a general space for remarks.
