Stable fittings.-A ring i at the end of a halter or chain is looped over a retaining-bar c, which is pivoted to a wall plate b, and is secured in a vertical position, with the ring in a recess m in the wall plate, by a pivoted hook f. The bar c is released in case of fire by lifting the hook f. Several hooks may be operated simultaneously by crank arms h on a cross-shaft g passing through the stall.
