1513. Kronenberg, A. Jan. 21. Forging.-Relates to the perforating of metal and other blocks from which seamless tubes &c. are to be made. The block a to be pierced is supported by a number of radial pins e arranged in rows one above another, each row of pins being supported by the inner face of a ringf, which is provided with a number of cam-surfaces f1, one for each pin. As the punch d descends through the block, the rings f are rotated in succession so as to allow the block to expand, the rings being rotated by reason of a bevelled rod x connected with the punch engaging with radially-projecting pins w on the rings.
