Strip-perforating machines.-Relates to means for making the feed-holes in patterns on record-strips as the strip passes through the preparing or com. posing-machine, and is described in connexion with the machine described in Specification 17,199/08 in which the character punches E, Fig. 1, carried by bars E2 are operated by motors J and are retracted by a universal bar M. The feed-holes are made by two punches A operated simultaneously with the punches E by levers A2 and links A3 frnm the bar M. The punches A co-operate with a die B which is hollowed out to form chambers B1, Fig. 2, to receive the punchings, which fall through conduits B2 into a collecting-chamber. When the strip is first led through the machine, it is gripped between the feed-sprockets L and movably mounted rollers C of yielding material, and is fed forwards by the depression of a key until the feed-holes reach the sprockets L.
