Boots and shoes, articles of precious metal, &c., polishing.-The ends of a strip of flexible polishing- material are connected to the ends of a bowed handle so as to leave a space between the material and the handle. The handle may be formed of bent wires B, or a single wire, coiled in the middle for stiffening purposes and provided at the ends with eyes to receive cross-pieces c to which the ends of the materials are fixed or over which it is passed. The material may be backed with felt, the material being affixed to both sides of the felt or forming an endless band. The mid-portions of the wires may be held together by a wooden gripping - piece. The pieces c may be removable and the handles may fold. A brush for applying polish or the like may be combined with the device.
