Drain pipes; drain-pipe joints.-In laying drain and other pipes, the adjacent ends of the pipes d, d1 rest on a shallow circular trough or support b, which is of large diameter relatively to that of the pipes. The pipe ends rest in arcuate recesses c in the walls of the trough, and jointing-material is filled into the trough and up to the centre-line of the pipes, as shown at f. The invention is distinguished from similar troughs which are deep, narrow, and rectangular in ground plan.
