Tracheotomy appliances; cannulas.-A veterinary trachea tube is provided with a flange, intermediate to its ends, which becomes embedded in the subcutaneous tissue and thus holds the device in place. Fig. 1 shows a socket b with a flange b1 fitting inside the trachea and screw-threaded to receive the retaining flange c. The trachea tube proper a is screw threaded at each end so as to screw into the socket b and to receive an external flange d. The tube a may be removed for cleansing or may be provided with a liner e. The flange b1 may be of angular shape or if circular is provided with radial webs b', Fig. 5, to prevent turning.
