29,497. Whitley, A. A. Dec. 27. Stretching and tentering.-Relates to tentering. clips of the kind described in Specifications No. 8535, A.D. 1905, and No. 6417, A.D. 1906. The clip is provided with a movable lower jaw A, Fig. 1, formed with lugs a, and the base B also has lugs b, these lugs carrying a hinge-pin c. On the pin c are mounted spiral springs bearing against the lugs a, b, so as to keep the jaw A in contact with the edge of the plate e when the upper jaw is raised. The upper jaw F, Fig. 3, is hinged at f to the arms of the clip, and is provided with a wedge-piece f and a lifting-piece f3 acted upon by the roller g on the lifting-lever G. The upper jaw has a part f embracing a rod i, which has a foot i2 resting upon the hinge-pin g of the lever G. The part f4 is acted upon by one end of the spring i3 to keep the upper jaw in its closed position.
