26,446. Lister, A. J. Nov. 22. Conveyers.-Relates to apparatus for drying, steaming, or conditioning wheat or other grain, hops. and the like. A casing a is divided into two portions by an horizontal partition d with an opening in which is a rotatable appliance o with a series of pockets, by which material can be passed from one portion of the casing to the other without allowing the gases in the two to intermingle. In each portion of the casing a is arranged a series of chains g passing over pulleys i and carrying perforated plates h pivoted so as to lie flat on the upper part of the chains g and hang down from the lower. The grain &c. is fed to the uppermost of the conveyers thus formed, and passes thence to the next, and so on, being thus exposed to hot or cold air, steam, or other gases, which are introduced by the conduits t and drawn out by the flues u.
