Conveyers ; elevators.-In the production of flour, meal, groats, &c. the grain is first passed into a cleaning-drum below which is a water bath in which light grains are floated off and heavy particles separated, the grain passing into a short horizontal drum 9 of large diameter, in which wings 10 of wire gauze rotate and lift the grain from the bath into the trough 11. The brush 12 carries the grain along a perforated drum to remove the superfluous moisture and passes it into the hulling-machine.
