Coating - compositions.-A packing - material applicable for the screw-cap stoppers or other covers of bottles, tanks, or other receptacles for storing petroleum, petrol, ethers, alcohol, spirits, benzol, turpentine, resin, oils, or fats, or for gas cylinders, consists of a composition of glycerine, water, and pigment spread by a suitable machine on a backing of fabric, paper, or cardboard. According to the Provisional Specification a little formaldehyde may be added to the composition, or the coated fabrics may be treated with a mixture of glycerine and formaldehyde.
