23,355. Bullivant, F. A., and Selby, G. M. Oct. 12. Coupling.-Relates to a device for separately connecting the two members of double ropes or cables to one anchorage device. The anchorage. device consists of a disk, eye, or thimble with a grooved or recessed periphery A to receive one rope or cable in any suitable manner. The other rope or cable is connected to the same anchorage device by means of a lanyard passed over grooved extensions B, B2 extending from each side of the disk, eye, or thimble, and over the grooved cross - piece D. The lanyard is passed first over the grooves b of the extension B and connected to the rope or cable alternately with being wound round each groove, then led through the opening C and wound round the grooves d and being attached to the rope alternately with passing over each groove d, and then passed over the grooves b2 and attached to the rope or cable alternately with passing over each groove, the two ends of the lanyard being then connected together. The grooves d may be dispensed with. The device may be attached to its anchorage in any suitable way, the eye - piece shown at E being for this purpose.
