28,513. Ritchie, D. M. Dec. 7. Conveying from working face in mines.- Conveyers, of the type in which a reciprocating band is rolled up on drums at each end, are fitted with discharging-apparatus at both ends, so that they can deliver minerals alternately from the working face of mines to haulage roads at either end of the conveyer. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement of apparatus in which, a conveyer of the type described in Specification 9817/09, is employed. The reciprocating band b passes from a loosely-mounted driving-drum c to a second drum d fixed on the same shaft as the pulley e. The rope f for effecting the return movement passes from the pulley e to a pulley g on the driving-shaft. In operation, the coal is discharged alternately into corves h at opposite ends of the moving band.
