2115. Thring, W. H. C. S. Jan. 27. Skating, appliances for aiding.-Consists in an appliance for teaching turning and balancing in skating. A base 1 of the form shown is provided with a central pivot 2 which is adapted to enter any one of three holes 5, 6, 7 in the underside of a foot-plate 4. The plate 4 is secured to the foot of the user who endeavours to turn on the pivot without bringing the plate in contact with the outer part 8 of the base.
