Dust-laying compositions.-A preparation for preventing slipping and wear which is applicable to roller-skating rinks &c., and the like, comprises yellow resin, kino, gum thus, seed lac, shellac, cake lac, colophony or black pitch, burgundy pitch, guaiacum resin, gum benzoin, dragon's blood, juniper gum, laccin or laccine, mastic, and pure sugar; to this are added disinfectants and antiseptics such as camphor, borax, boracic acid, and potassium permanganate, and any suitable colouring matter as cochineal and prepared chalk. The above-described ingredients, leaving out borax and potassium permanganate, may be dissolved with methylated spirit or naphtha with canada balsam and applied to the floor in liquid form.
