Cotton, gathering. -In cottonharvesting apparatus in which air currents convey the cotton through flexible and other tubes to a central receptacle, t h e flexible tubes end in pouches which are fastened by belts to the bodies of pickers, who place the cotton in the couches, from which it passes to the receptacle. The main tubes e are connected to a fan c communicating with a funnel b, through which the cotton is discharged into bags &c. The fan is driven from a motor d', and the whole apparatus is mounted on a wheeled frame Flexible tubes h connect the tubes e with the pouches k, which may be of metal, leather, &c. and fitted with valves actuated by handles k2 &c.
