Bell clappers and other strikers.-To prevent ' chattering,' the clappers of church and like bells carry a pair of spring buffers mounted on a detachable and adjustable clip. The bufferplates are provided with a renewable outer part d of leather or other non-metallic material, and are carried, one on each of a pair of clips l detachably secured to the clapper b by bolts m. The spring buffers are secured to the clips l by screwed pins h, by which the buffers may be adjusted as desired.
