Surface gauges.-A gauging-device for constructing contour models to scale from maps comprises a board c, two graduated side bars e adjustable vertically on screwed legs d at the corners of the board, a graduated cross-bar f slidably adjustable on the side bars, and a vertically - adjustable graduated pointer b adapted to be secured in any position on the cross-bar. The heights to which the model substance is to be made up at any distance from the zero point can be determined by means of the graduated bars and pointer.
